What Online operations does Maxim Money carry out?

Maxim Money does the following online operations:

• Version Check: Maxim Money checks to see if it's on the latest version.  This can be enabled/disabled in Settings.  This is simply an API request which returns the number of the latest version, along with download link and MD5 checksum.
• Software Download: If you request that Maxim Money auto-updates when a new version becomes available, it will download a small updater utility (checking its authenticity), and execute this.  The updater will then download the latest version of Maxim Money (again, checking its authenticity), replace the existing files with the new ones, and launches the new version.
• Price Downloads:  This can be enabled/disabled in Settings.  Prices are requested for any held security where pricing source is not set to None.
• Error Reporting:  If an error occurs, and the user clicks on OK, the error message, any associated stack trace message and any user feedback is uploaded to the Maxim Money server.  This assists the development of the application by making it easier to see where errors are occurring, so they can be fixed more easily.  No personal information is uploaded.  If you do not wish the error to be uploaded you can close the error message by clicking on the X in the top-right of the form instead of the OK button.

No other online operations are carried out, and no sensitive information is uploaded, ever.

For additional peace of mind, most Firewall software will allow you to block individual software applications from accessing the Internet.  You may wish to do this if you want to prevent Maxim Money from making any internet connections.
