TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Last updated 23 April 2026
Welcome to Maxim Money (https://maxim-money.app). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Maxim Money software application ("Software") and the website provided by Wildfire Software Ltd ("we," "us," or "our").
By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to use Maxim Money according to the tier you have selected (Basic, Plus, or Pro).
- Basic License: Granted for personal use with limits on account numbers and features as defined on our pricing page.
- Plus/Pro License: Granted upon receipt of a one-time payment. This license is perpetual for the version purchased and includes all future updates to that version. Plus and Pro licences are restricted to a single PC. If you wish to run Maxim Money Plus/Pro on multiple machines, you must obtain a separate licence for each PC.
Maxim Money is sold as a "one-time purchase" product.
- Updates: You are entitled to all future updates of the Software at no additional cost.
- Exceptions: We reserve the right to charge for licence upgrades (e.g., moving from Plus to Pro) or third-party integrated services (such as Open Banking data feeds) which may incur ongoing costs from external providers.
Your financial privacy is a core pillar of Maxim Money.
- Local Storage: All financial data, transactions, and account details are stored locally on your device or your chosen storage medium.
- No Cloud Access: Wildfire Software Ltd does not have access to your financial data, your storage file passwords, or your encryption keys.
- Responsibility: You are solely responsible for backing up your data and maintaining the security of your hardware. We cannot recover lost data or forgotten passwords.
If you utilize "Open Banking" features:
- Data is retrieved via third-party regulated providers.
- Your use of these features is subject to the terms of those specific providers.
- We do not store your banking credentials on our servers.
Maxim Money is a data organization and visualization tool.
- We do not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.
- The software’s reporting and charting features are for informational purposes only. Any financial decisions made based on the Software are at your own risk.
If you use Maxim Money to fulfill your obligations under HMRC Making Tax Digital for Income Tax (ITSA) or VAT, the following applies:
- Digital Record Keeping: You acknowledge that HMRC requires "Digital Links" between software programs. Maxim Money is designed to maintain these links. You agree that you will not manually re-key or "copy-paste" data between Maxim Money and HMRC’s submission systems in a way that violates HMRC’s "Digital Journey" requirements.
- HMRC API Authorization: To submit data to HMRC, you must authorize Maxim Money to interact with HMRC’s APIs using your Government Gateway credentials. We do not store your Gateway password; authentication is handled via HMRC’s secure OAuth 2.0 protocol.
- Submission Responsibility: While Maxim Money provides the interface to transmit your data via the HMRC API, you remain solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of your tax submissions. Wildfire Software Ltd is not responsible for any penalties, interest, or legal action taken by HMRC resulting from incorrect data or missed deadlines.
- API Availability: Our ability to submit your data depends on the availability of HMRC’s external systems. We are not liable for any failure to submit data caused by HMRC server downtime or API maintenance.
The Software is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wildfire Software Ltd shall not be liable for:
- Any loss of data or corruption of files.
- Any financial losses or investment gains/losses.
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Software.
We offer a 30-day free trial of the Pro version to ensure the Software meets your needs before purchase. Because of this "try before you buy" period, refunds are generally only issued at our discretion or where required by local consumer law.
The Software, including its code, UI design, and branding, is the intellectual property of Wildfire Software Ltd. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Software.
